Pastor’s Wife
1. So Saturday morning, December 1, all the little Travels and Rants elves gathered round for the November blog art give-away. We took all the posts that had been received, numbered them, and used this groovy random number generator to hand out this month’s free art to our commenter Mara, who will be picking out her loot shortly.
I had such fun with people’s comments that I’ve decided to do this every month. Or at least for a while. The giveaway for December will be a matted photograph. Details are here.
2. Friday night I went out to the King of My Living Room concert at Gravity Lounge. Ten great local singer-songwriters, all on stage at one time. It was a cool event and a special evening.
3. Today I ran the Bear Creek 10 mile trail race down in Cumberland County. I’ve run this race 4 times before, and it’s always one of my favorite races of the year, in spite of the fact that either I or the weather has always had a bad day on race day. This year it was just a good hard race on a pleasant winter day, resulting in my best time ever in this race, by almost 7 minutes. It’s a tough race though - ten miles, all on trails or fire roads; no killer hills, but plenty of smaller hills that take it out of you.

5. Lynchburg is a funny town. Don’t you just wonder if it’s the wife of a reserved pastor, or if maybe the li’l woman is the one who is kinda shy?

Of course, this implies that either pastors are always male or that Lynchburg has recently become A LOT more progressive about gay marriage….you choose which one it is…
