Disguise

1. In honor of his appearance tonight in Charlottesville, in spite of the fact that I’m too frickin poor to afford the Paramount tickets. I encourage all my rich friends (not that I have any rich friends) to go see David Bromberg. This man and his songs are a delight.

Don’t let the glasses fool ya
Stand beside me when you measure my size
Don’t let false estimations rule ya
So even you might come to realize
I’ve been a wizard since my childhood
And I have earned some respect for my art
I rule the spirits that live in the wild
And every evening I talk to the stars

-David Bromberg, “Demon in Disguise”

2. The annual Monday-after-Kentuck City Cafe artist picture. Tim, Jeannie, Andrew, Craig, Linda, Linda, Harold. Northport, Alabama, Monday, October 22, 2007.

We missed you, Fred.
